JAMFEST FUND DISBURSED
September 28, 2005

Statement by Edmund Anthony, Keeper of the Fund.

Wed. Sept 29 -- The Jamfest Fund was set up informally on November 17th, 2004, the last night of Jamfest2004. A total of RM13,000 was collected in pledges and cash.

The objective of the fund was to support early education in music and the performing arts for deserving children.

In the last year, we have visited various orphanages and welfare homes to see whether we could implement this programme.

Unfortunately, we have found the needs of these homes are more basic and acute - food, tuition and cold hard cash.

The logistics of organising music classes, the distance to travel, and the high probability that the students may not follow through were also factors against our original idea taking off.

In the end, we returned to the major sponsors of the fund, namely Jerry Chong, who committed RM10,000, and two other substantial sponsors, and it was decided the fund be disbursed immediately to charities of their choice.

The following is the breakdown on how the fund will be dispersed:

We would like thank all of those who contributed to make Jamfest2004 a success and we look forward to making this year's Jamfest equally exceptional.

On behalf of Jamfest Fund,
Edmund Anthony
