NEW BAND: LIGHTS

This week we have a new band onboard, playing on Thursday, called LIGHTS. (No cover charge -- free admission)

PROFILE OF LIGHTS
LIGHTS is a 4-piece group comprising Gerard Emmanuel on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Lawrence David on vocals and bass, Hamdan Yaacob on lead guitar and Lourds Anthony on electronic drum pads.

Formed in 2000, Lights was originally part of Small Stones, a popular band of the local clubs and pubs scene. The band is well-known for its wide repertoire of popular tunes from the 60s to the 90s including a selection of sentimental, country & western and evergreen hits.

Lead vocalist Gerard Emmanuel is a fixture in the pub circuit for over 20 years as a soloist and also formerly with Small Stones. He does amazing covers of Rod Stewart, James Taylor, the Bee Gees and the legendary Elvis Presley - to name a few.

Lawrence David, vocalist and bassist, has played with renowned local bands like Revolvers and Delta and has also performed with various bands in Korea, Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Apart from, Beatles' numbers, Lawrence often gets requests to sing Deep Purple's Highway Star and Smoke On The Water.

Lead guitarist Hamdan aka Hamdan "Apache" used to play with the popular Fredo & The Flinstones and Hunters. He is known for his fantastic guitar solos on stage.

Lourds Anthony's instrument of choice is the Percussion Pad. He has been playing it for over 12 years, after he was first-inspired by the seminal duo Flower Power!! and Alex Peters. The electronic multi-pad features sounds ranging from acoustic and electronic drums to hand percussion instruments and adds a unique dimension to Lights' live performances.

These talented group of musicians will croon their way into your hearts and take you on a nostalgic journey of great songs on Thursday, June 30th, at the Backyard.
