2ND BACKYARD POOL LEAGUE

Backyard Pub & Grill is proud to announce the 2nd Backyard Pool League 2005.

The league commences 9th May 2005 in a brand new format, scheduled to run for six weeks.

The management has decided to generously provide all players a 15 PERCENT DISCOUNT off their bills (only for scheduled match days) irrespective of whether you are playing on that day or not.

Competition is limited to 30 players only, on a first come, first served basis. Entrance fee is RM20.

GAME FORMAT

1ST ROUND

6 groups of 5 players a group.
Top 2 players from each group,ie 12 players in total,shall qualify for the 2nd round.

Match Dates, 1st round:
8pm to 9.30pm, 2 tables
9.30pm to 11.30pm,1 table

Group 1: Monday, May 9, 2005
Group 2: Wednesday, May 11, 2005
Group 3: Monday, May 16, 2005
Group 4: Wednesday, May 18, 2005
Group 5: Monday, May 23, 2005
Group 6: Wednesday, May 25, 2005

2ND ROUND

2 groups of 6 players a group.
Top 3 players from each group ie 6 players in total, shall go into the FINALS.

Match Dates, 2nd round:
8pm to 9.30pm, 2 tables
9.30pm to 11.30pm,1 table

Group A (the 6 players from groups 1, 2 & 3):
Monday, May 30, 2005
Group B (the 6 players from groups 4, 5 & 6):
Wednesday , June 1, 2005

3rd and Final Round
The remaining 6 SURVIVORS will battle it out on 8 JUNE 2005.

GENERAL RULES

All games including the finals,shall be played to the best of 3 frames
Round Robin for all games: Each group shall have its own appointed CAPTAIN who in turn will, on match day appoint umpires for each game
TIME:SHARP 8 pm. Any player who does NOT show up by 9.30pm or by the time the players present have completed their games shall be deemed to have given a WALKOVER ie. you are OUT of the bloody competition.
A win carries 2 points and a SEVEN BALLER earns you half a point.
In the event of a TIE, a ONE FRAME decider will be played to determine the winner. In the event it is still tied, the number of balls remaining will determine the winner.
All games to be paid by the players and in a decider the cost shall be shared between the 2 players.
HOUSE RULES OK!

PRIZES FOR 1st and 2nd Rounds:
Champion of each group gets 2 jugs of beer.
Runner up of each group gets 1 jug of beer.

FINAL ROUND PRIZES
The B. P. L. Champion gets :
(a) Challenge Trophy
(b) One Bottle 12-year-old Scotch.
(c) 4 Jugs of beer.
(d) One Bottle of Sparkling Wine

Runner Up gets:
(a) One Bottle of Scotch
(b) 3 Jugs of beer

3rd Place: 4 Jugs of BEER

4th Place: 3 Jugs of BEER

All players get a 15 % DISCOUNT off their bills (ONLY for SCHEDULED match days) irrespective of whether you are playing on that or not.
