Backyard Pub and Grill
is hosting Amnesty International Malaysia's "Rhythm of Rights 2" event in
conjunction with International Human Rights Day on Thurs, Dec 9th, 2004.
A stellar line-up of musicians including Viji & Fasy, Albert Sirimal, Peter Hassan and Errol de Cruz
will be performing that night.
The event is to mark International Human Rights Day on December 10 which is the anniversary
of the United Nations' General Assembly's adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human
Rights in 1948.
It is commemorated around the globe to re-dedicate ourselves to the spirit of the
declaration that "all human beings are born with equal and inalienable rights
and fundamental freedoms".
A booth will be set up with AI promotion materials and exhibition
posters and AI "Stop Violence Against Women" t-shirts will be sold at RM15.
Those interested are also welcome to sign up as members.
Tickets are priced at RM30 and includes a sumptuous dinner,
two drink coupons at 10 percent off Happy Hour prices, and Happy Hours prices
all night thereafter.
Funds collected will go to Amnesty International's campaigns in Malaysia.
