Karen Nunis Blackstone, one of Malaysia’s pioneering indie musicians, is back in KL. Karen has performed her blend of noir folk-based originals, jazz and blues, extensively throughout Japan and the US.

Her albums Give Me Sanity and Dark Sun Big Rain, with a focus on her vocals, driving acoustic guitars, flute and percussion, both achieved critical acclaim internationally. While Karen’s savvy vocals are blues inflected, her songs embody a fusion of the 60s socially conscious rock and contemporary world beat aesthetics.
