The Witness saw the four, mocking and unrepentant, held down by silver chains, staked through the heart, disemboweled, decapitated, set ablaze, bones ground to a fine dust, mixed with fresh blood from a desecrated white chicken, sacred hill rice wine.

Poured into four mortar blocks, cast in lead and committed to an eternity of blackness and cold in the deepest locatable undersea trench, farthest from maritime activity. (All but one Witness involved in the cleansing were never seen again.) |

Chapter 1. THE SECOND OCCURRENCE (Return)

101.3 Deg East, 3.4 Deg North. 12 pm:
The sky was a mass of boiling asphalt that noon. A murder of crows none had ever seen the likes of, hundreds of thousands of wings beating thunderclaps on breasts. A rain of black feathers, excrement and blood.
And
through the winged eclipse came the four, shimmering holes in a sea of
darkness.
Behind, more came.
The
sky fell amidst the screams.
As
they approached.
And
sang.

Chapter 2. ANALYSIS

Little is known of the four and what happened before the Cleansing, and the First Occurrence. It is believed that they once led normal lives and even had names; Rafil, Jack, Nuhi and Nazrul.
It is said they were once musicians. Weaving their own original aural tapestry, inspired by the likes of Tom Waits, Bauhaus, Joy Division, Hendrix, Clapton, Lennon and The Cure.

They would seldom play songs written by others, and when they did the others would look on with venomous hate.
