At Backyard, we love our music, and we continue to enjoy the privilege of attracting some of the best musicians in the local scene. Independent solo artists to veteran musicians have all graced our place with their different styles playing music from the classics through to modern tunes. We try to offer live music performances every day, and believe are only a handful of pubs in the Klang Valley to boast and be proud of such an accomplished music scene.
Beginning 2006, we started an Open Mike session every Tuesday where the stage is open to anyone who wishes to perform to a live audience. Occasionally, we have accomplished musicians take centerstage such as Paul Ponnudurai, Lewis Pragasam, Amir Yussof, Jamie Wilson, and Steve Thornton among many others.
During the months of October-November, we host the Jairus Anthony Music Festival (JAM Fest) annually in memory of long-time pub-singer Jairus Anthony. This two-month long music festival brings together many musicians young and old to celebrate the life of Jairus for which he dedicated over two decades to the local pub circuit.
Occasionally, we have themed music nights and have special guest performances by international bands such as the South African group Basadi Women of Jazz. Not to forget, our very talented resident bands playing regularly every Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
Regular live performances for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday are:

Viji is the veteran journeyman of the local pub scene.
He says he's "seen it all, done it all" and nobody will dispute that. Viji has performed solo for
15 years, collaborated with various others -- most successfully with Alex Peters for the inimitable Flower Power!! -- and also once owned a pub called Concept in Damansara.
With new partner Fasy on the electric guitar, Viji has re-emerged with a powerful blend of
his growly voice, scintillating solos and a repertoire that harkens back to the guitar-driven
days of 70s.
Viji and Fasy are probably the most under-rated duo in the country. Most patrons
of Backyard find themselves blown away by their tight combination, Fasy's energetic
playing and some surprise lesser-known blues and mellow rock numbers.
Fasy has garnered a popular following of late as a soloist and with his band Playin December. He hails from a musical family from the Maldives and first came to Malaysia
in 1996 as a student. He has two self-recorded albums on the market called Cruising and Fasy: A Compilation, which are available
at the Backyard counter. More on Fasy here.
Expect some Deep Purple, CCR, Bob Dylan, Santana, Muddy Waters, Crosby, Stills & Nash,
Simon & Garfunkel and James Taylor. (posted Oct 10, 2005)

This trio is an incredibly versatile and talented band that came together in the Backyard Pub.
They comprise: Jason Noah, as lead singer and acoustic guitarist, Raymond Chia, on keyboards and vocals, and Simon Justin Leo, on lead guitar, and are set to really rock the place on Fridays.
Jason Noah recently won a Bon Jovi sing-alike contest and is known for his renditions of Bon Jovi's It's My Life and Bed of Roses, and crowd-favourite Sweet Child O' Mine by Guns N' Roses'. Jason was once with a band called JRM which did a successful tour of Japan.
Raymond Chia was formerly part of popular country band Southern Reign, and most recently with Backyard band Jericho. He croons everything from oldies to contemporary songs with ease and control.
Simon Justin Leo once composed, sang and played lead guitar for top local band Carefree. His guitar solos are still spot-on.(updated Nov 02, 2005)
